The voice of an entire pissed-off generation, Kurt Cobain, died at the young age of 27 - that's some sort of a mystical age, apparently, since quite a few famous, amazingly talented artists died at that age.

"Nevermind" by Nirvana represented the need of many young people of that time - to listen to a different kind of music, to disengage from the all-too-sweet 80s and to find their own voice. That voice was Nirvana, and specifically - Kurt Cobain.

Through the blurry, unclear, hoarse singing in "Nevermind", Cobain managed to communicate the feeling of a whole generation: we don't belong here, we are lonely and misunderstood, we feel pain but we also don't give much of fuck. It all churned down to one, unforgettable quote:

"Well, whatever, nevermind".

Growing up in the 90s really comes down to this - no one cares, so I won't care either. Nirvana was the voice of those who didn't belong, the outcasts, that didn't fit in and needed someone to express their pain.

The pain was so great, apparently, that Kurt Cobain couldn't really take it. So he took a shotgun to his head, and finished off what could have been a glorious, crazy and painful life.

"Nevermind" is now 20 years old. The album was listed at number 17 on Rolling Stone's list "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time", and for many good reasons.

Despite the internet, a plethora of social networks and many other ways to connect to each other, a lot of us still feel very much alone and out of place. "Nevermind" speaks of that pain, and continues to be relevant, expressive and amazingly touching.

Japanese Whale Killers Destroy Sea Shepherd Ship Ady Gil

The Japanese ship Shonan Maru No. 2 rammed and caused catastrophic damage to the Sea Shepherd trimaran Ady Gil.

Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.

Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.

Six crew crew members, four from New Zealand, one from Australia, and one from the Netherlands were immediately rescued by the crew of the Sea Shepherd ship Bob Barker. None of the crew Ady Gil crew were injured.

Sea Shepherd believes the Japanese are trying to lure it's flagship vessel the Steve Irwin into range so they can again begin trailing it.

Since December, Japanese researchers have prevented Sea Shepherd conservationists from locating the whaling fleet by tailing the Steve Irwin and sending coordinates on its whereabouts to the whalers.

The Steve Irwin to continue tracking the whaling ships.

The conservation group now plan to pay a salvage vessel to tow its wreck to shore.

Ever since Google implemented the advanced attachment features in Gmail, a lot of users have experienced problems with attaching big files to Gmail outgoing messages. Most users simply get an "Attachment Failed" red error message, and the file stops uploading.

There are several solutions for the Gmail attachment failure:

Change your connection to https: Gmail enables you to connect through a secured connection (https). This option actually solves other problems, as well, like stuck Gmail that won't load properly. To change the way you connect to Gmail, go to Settings ---> General. Under "Browser Connection" mark the option "Always use https". Scroll down and hit "Save Changes".
Remove Google Toolbar: There's a known issue with Google toolbar, Firefox and Gmail file uploads. Try uninstalling the Google toolbar, and see if it helps. Besides, what do REALLY need it for?
Change Attachment Settings: Go to Settings ---> General. Scroll to the bottom and under "Attachments" mark the option "Basic attachment features - Attach one file at a time and don't show progress bars".
Update your Flash version: The advanced attachment feature on Gmail works on Flash. Check if you have the latest version.
Check your firewall: Make sure your firewall isn't blocking Gmail on any port. There's a slim chance that this might be the problem.
Use Basic HTML on Gmail: Although this isn't an ideal solution, you might want to consider it, at least temporarily. It's a good solution especially for those working on slower, weaker computers.
Get another e-mail service: OK, I know this isn't really a solution. Still, if all else fails, you should remember that Gmail isn't the only mail service out there. You can use your own ISP e-mail or get another mail service, such as Yahoo or Hotmail. If you own your own site, your hosting will usually provide with limitless e-mail addresses and limitless e-mail storage, so use it.

Seems like Google is feeling a bit of pressure. Two weeks after the Microsoft-Yahoo search deal, Google is announcing a new-renewed search engine, code named Caffeine.

Although Google claims this is NOT a counter-move that comes as a response to any other company, it seems a bit more than a coincidence that the might search giant has chosen to release its new search engine now.

Google has been having some problems lately - some of its services weren't a big success and were closed; Google's image as a censor doesn't help either; AdSense and AdWords users are reporting problems and clashes with Google; Twitter is getting stronger and Google has no real answer to real-time searches - and much more.

The new Google search engine is still in Beta version, and Google claims that regular users might not notice the difference between the old Google and the new Caffeine. A bit of testing and tinkering with Google's new search engine revealed the following:

Caffeine is faster than the regular Google search. That might change after the entire internet will knock on its doors.
The results are displayed differently - there are more images, clips and news.

Rankings are different. I am regularly monitoring some search terms (both in Hebrew and in English), and I could see some significant changes. SEO experts are in trouble - it seems that at least some modifications will need to be made.

The war just got more intense. It will be interesting to watch, of course.

I am a mix of old and new. I love new technology and gadgets, but I also adore antiques and retro items.

When it comes to books, I'm still old-fashioned. I love them in the form of paper, and I don't think that's going to change any time soon. Still, I really wanted a Kindle - for fun, for traveling and just to try it out.

Kindle is expensive, so I didn't rush out to buy it. Now, it seems, I will be spending my money on something else: Amazon has just done one of the most stupid things ever. It appears that the publisher of 1984 and Animal Farm changed his mind, and didn't want these books on Kindle anymore. Since a few thousand people already bought digital copies of these books for their Kindle, Amazon was faced with a problem.

And how did Amazon solve that problem, do you ask? Simple: they remotely deleted every copy of 1984 and Animal Farm from every Kindle that had them, without the owner's permission. Amazon did give the customers a refund for that deletion, but the severity of this Big Brother act remains. Amazon has simply violated the privacy of each and every customer that bought these books.

The irony doesn't escape me, either. Of all books, 1984, represents best what happens when too much control is given to the wrong people. Amazon has just lost a future Kindle customer. I'll stick to book who won't disappear on me in the middle of the night, thank you very much.

It's good to see I'm not the only one who remembers Beastmaster, which was a very cute movie. I am also very happy with the mentioning of Labyrinth, a true childhood classic, full of fun, humor and creepy puppets.

Still, I was missing one true classic, called The Flight of Dragons - a lovely and wonderful animated movie, with dragons and magic galore.

The choice of the first place, The Princess Bride, is (of course) perfect. One of the best movies ever, one I remember by heart and can watch over and over again. A true classic.

Cooking Dash is a fast-pace food game, for those already seasoned (ha ha) in time management games.

Sushi Go Round

This is one of the sweetest, coolest online games. I keep coming back to it, since it's always challenging and fun. In Sushi Go Round, you are serving sushi to your customers. They ask for different kinds of sushi, and you have to prepare the food, remember the recipe for each sushi piece, make sure you have enough supplies, serve the food quickly and clear the plates when the clients are done eating, so new clients can have a seat. Since the sushi is served on a conveyor belt, sometimes the dish you prepare for one customer gets snatched by another, so the fun never ends. It's a great game to take your minds off of things - unless you are craving sushi, of course.

This malware is basically another fake Anti-Virus/Anti Spyware program, which you don't really want on your PC.

So - don't copy-paste any porn links from YouTube. They won't get you any porn - just a messed up computer.

Recently I found myself giving computer lessons to adults over 60 years old. Some of them are totally new to the computer world. For those who take their first mousy steps, it's not that obvious.

So, I have assembled a list of simple games, that don't require a lot of thinking or strategics, to help new computer users practice the basic mouse skills they need for every-day computer use.

Bubble Shooter (Point and Click, Mouse movement and accuracy) - Serious gamers will ridicule this one, but it's a lovely, simple game that really requires just the movement of the mouse. It's also an easy, rather addictive game, which makes sure the player won't stop playing too soon.
Solitaire (Drag and Drop) - One can only guess how many work hours have gone to waste because of this heinous game. It's not very complicated and it's great for practicing drag and drop with your mouse - a skill which isn't easy to master if you are a new computer user. It's also available on any Windows computer.
Same Game (Double Click) - Simple and easy, and helps a user practice quick double-clicking.
Pong (Mouse movement, Speed) - Oldie, goldie and very useful for when you need to practice mouse movement, improve working speed and enhance hand-eye connection.
Sheep Dash (Reaction Time) - Sometimes users find it hard to connect between the eye and hand movement. This game enables the player to speed up their reaction time and to improve hand-eye connection.
The Maze (Dragging and Accuracy) - This is a generic game that has many forms. Basically, you have to carefully drag the dot with your mouse in order to pass through the maze. It requires precision and concentration. For intermediate users.
Music Catch 2 (Mouse movement and accuracy) - Another great game for intermediate users. It only requires of you to move around with the mouse - no clicking is necessary. However, you have to be rather quick and accurate - and it becomes more and more challenging as you advance. Plus - cool music :-)
Diner Dash (Multitasking, Time Management and Speed) - This game is actually for more advanced users. Use it to learn time management, multi-tasking and improving the speed of your mouse movement.
