Star Trek VS Star Wars

There are a few clips that went for this theme - Star Trek VS Star Wars. It's kind of an obvious one, isn't it? Too bad everybody thinks Star Wars is better than Star Trek :) Here's another short video that "proves" it - and actually the best of its kind I have seen so far:

And while we are on the subject, check out the 10 reasons why Star Wars is better than Star Trek:

  1. In the Star Wars universe, weapons rarely, if ever, are set on "stun."
  2. The Enterprise needs a huge engine room with an anti-matter unit and a crew of twenty just to go into warp -- the Millennium Falcon does the same thing with R2-D2 and a Wookiee.
  3. After resisting the Imperial torture droid and Darth Vader Princess Leia still looked fresh and desirable. After pithy Cardassian starvation torture, Picard looked like hell.
  4. Jabba the Hutt would eat Harry Mudd for trying to cut in on his action.
  5. Luke Skywalker is not obsessed with sleeping with every alien he encounters.
  6. One word: "light sabers".
  7. The Federation would have to attempt to liberate any ship named Slave I.
  8. Darth Vader could choke the entire Borg empire with one glance.
  9. Picard pilots the Enterprise through an asteroid belt at one-quarter impulse power. Han Solo floors it.
  10. The Death Star doesn't care if a world is class "M" or not.

Animals are the stars of the internet. They are everywhere, especially in clips. Although cats dominate the plethora of animal videos from around the world, there is plenty of room for other critters to show their worth.

Warning: Do NOT Shave your Ass-Hair

The internet is full of shit. Literally. This is the story of a guy with SEVERE hygiene problems. Probably mental problems, too, although he writes rather coherently.

This guy, having suffered some disgusting problems while going to the bathroom, decides to shave the hair off his entire ass. The results are terrible, of course, and here is his tragic story.

From the text: "I now have a great respect for anal-hair. Like everything in this world God created, it has its mighty purpose in existence. It was only after I had removed it that I started to learn how much I had been taking it for granted. For one, it provides friction. I learned this the next day, when I walked out into the sun heading for class...".

Yet Another Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Trailer

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwarts. A new teacher arrives at Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn, who has quite a few secrets of his own, and at first glance actually appears evil.

Harry gets a Potions book which used to be belong to a mysterious "Half-Blood Prince". Harry finds that the Half-Blood Prince's ancient scribbles are written along the margins of almost every page, giving him advice on how to improve greatly on his Potions work, and also teaching him a few helpful (and dangerous) spells.

Harry is starting private lessons with Dumbledore, during which Harry learns the dark secrets of Voldemort's (AKA Tom Riddle) past, hoping that they could use these secrets to find a way to defeat him.

Draco Malfoy is acting weird and suspicious, sneaking around the school, apparently doing Voldemort's bidding. Harry follows Draco around, in an effort to discover his dark secrets.

Ron has found a new girlfriend, Lavender Brown, a perky (if not obnoxious) Gryffindor student, and Hermione is envious. Ron and Hermione's friendship takes a toll throughout the school year and Harry, as usual, is stuck in the middle. Harry, meanwhile, is facing a romantic dilemma of his own: he realizes he is falling for his best friend's sister, Ginny Weasley, who is unfortunately dating Harry's classmate, Dean Thomas.

The darkness of Voldemort's impending rise to power is always apparent. The ending is dramatic and tragic, leaving many questions until the last chapter of the Harry Potter series.

Mana Mana (AKA Mahna Mahna, Manamana and Mah Nà Mah Nà), is a funny little music number, written by an Italian musician Piero Umiliani. Nada, Zip, Zilch

Zilch is a cool new game I encountered recently in Kongregate.

The games is nicely designed, simple to play and very addictive. Very useful if you feel like killing some time in the office, or just have some fun. All you need is a bit of luck and a bit of strategy. Enjoy!

Author Michael Crichton Has Died at 66

The US elections almost made me miss this: Michael Crichton, author of "Jurassic Park", "The Andromeda Strain", "Sphere" and many more books, has died yesterday in Los Angeles "after a courageous and private battle against cancer", according to an announcement on his Web site.

Chrichton was a brand-name author, known for his stories of disaster and systematic breakdown, such as the rampant microbe of "The Andromeda Strain" or dinosaurs running amok in "Jurassic Park," one of his many books that became major Hollywood movies. His books have sold over 150 million copies worldwide. His works were usually based on the action genre and heavily feature technology.

Crichton's works were frequently cautionary and his plots often portrayed scientific advancements going awry, commonly resulting in worst-case scenarios. A notable recurring theme in Crichton's plots is the pathological failure of complex systems and their safeguards, whether biological ("Jurassic Park"), military/organizational ("The Andromeda Strain") or cybernetic (Westworld).

In addition to his books, Crichton created the hit television show "ER".

Steven Spielberg, who worked many times with Crichton, released the following statement:

"Michael's talent out-scaled even his own dinosaurs of 'Jurassic Park'. He was the greatest at blending science with big theatrical concepts, which is what gave credibility to dinosaurs again walking the earth...There is no one in the wings that will ever take his place".
