15 Typing Games, Tests and Lessons to Help you Type Faster and Better

Touch-typing is a very important skill, and not only if you are a secretary or a typist. Every blogger, chatter, content manager - and anyone who does business online - knows that fast typing is a crucial computer skill. Fast typing can really help you save time, money and energy when working or socializing online. There are quite a few FREE online ways to help you improve your typing skills.

So, here are 15 games, tests, lessons and resources, to help you type faster and better. Improve your typing skills with these cool sites and tools.

I personally think it's the best way to improve your typing speed AND have fun. If you are an advanced typist already, you'll enjoy these games even more. After the games, I listed some free typing tests and typing lessons. Have fun!

  1. Typer Shark - very challenging and cute game by the masters in PopCap games. The game gets real hard after a while. Plus, it has this real nifty Jaws theme music bit, every time a shark gets too close. I wonder if they paid royalties for that...

  2. Typing Ninja Hunter - Good game for beginners. Advanced typists might find it a bit boring. Still, ninjas are always cool.

  3. Alpha Attack - great and addictive game on MiniClip.

  4. Fingerjig - This typing game also has a Facebook application.

  5. QWERTY Warriors - This game can get really intense. You are surrounded by enemies that shoot you, and have to kill them by typing the word next to them. It's basically type fast or DIE!

  6. A collection of typing games on FreeTypingGame.net. They also have typing tests and typing lessons.

  7. Another collection of typing games.

  8. A typing test on Powertyping.

  9. Another speed typing test.

  10. How fast are you - a short and quick typing test. At the end you'll see how you ranked and also get a code for a button to show off in your blog or site.

  11. Yet another free typing test.

  12. Peter's Online Typing Course - looks a bit old-school, but offers an in-depth typing course, and it's free.

  13. Free QWERTY Typing Lessons.

  14. VisiBone Touch-Typing Tutor.

  15. Firefox Add-on: Addictive Typing Lessons. Yes, they have an add-on for that, too. Firefox rulez!

Pretty Please, with Meow on the Top

This has got to be one of the CUTEST kitten videos I have ever seen. It doesn't look much in the first few seconds, but just you wait to 00:18 and faint from the cuteness:

A Sunday Brain Teaser

Most casual games aren't really meant to make you think. They are good for passing time, mostly with no brain challenge at all.

Z-Rox, a sweet little game I have discovered in Kongregate today, is a bit different. It looks simple and unsophisticated, but it's a real brain teaser that makes you think out of the box (even if you don't have a box).

The purpose of the game is to guess which letter, shape or number are presented to you. It sounds simplistic - but it's not that easy. The music is also pretty cool, and so this game is a refreshing new perspective on casual games. Try and enjoy!

Pink Floyd's Richard Wright has Died

Richard Wright, Pink Floyd founding member and keyboard player, died Monday at the age of 65 after battling cancer. Wright wrote significant parts of the music for classic albums such as Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, as well as for Pink Floyd's final studio album The Division Bell.

In the early days of Pink Floyd, Wright, along with Syd Barrett, was seen as the group's dominant musical force. The London-born musician and son of a biochemist wrote and sang several songs of his own.

Wright played with the surviving members of Pink Floyd in 2005 at Live 8. Wright had performed on every Pink Floyd tour.

15 Things to do Before the End of the World

It seems like the end of the world is coming (again), thanks to modern Physics, the Swiss and of course - the French. So, of course, I decided to write a post about it, instead of repenting, or something.

I first thought to compile a list of cool end-of-the-world songs, but that might have to wait for after the big bang. Right now I need to be more pragmatic. So, here it is - things to do before the end of the world:

  1. Have sex.
  2. Say goodbye to friends and family. Also, might be a good time to apologize for all your wrong-doings.
  3. Have seriously perverted sex, preferably with more than one person at the same time, and while doing some serious drugs and/or alcohol.
  4. Go on the wildest shopping spree ever - it's not like you'll need to actually PAY the bill.
  5. Have sex.
  6. Eat the fanciest meal ever. Forget calories just this once. I hear BLACK makes you thin.
  7. Gain one more level at your favorite RPG.
  8. Drive really fast.
  9. Have sex with someone of the same gender.
  10. Write a post and try to get on the first page of Digg (Nah, forget it. The world WILL end before you can pull THAT stunt).
  11. Read your favorite book and watch your favorite movie (Deep Throat and the Midgets doesn't count!).
  12. Repent.
  13. Or not.
  14. Watch a sunset.
  15. Have sex.

Google Chrome: Links, Tips, Tricks and Hacks

Google Chrome is out there, and making a lot of noise over the internet. I have tried it and found it easy and quick - but uninstalled it eventually, because of its stinking EULA. Plus, I love Firefox way too much, and it takes more than a flashy Google creation to make me part with it.

Still, the emergence of a new browser, one that was created by an internet giant, is a very interesting event, worthy of our interest. Here are some links to the most interesting posts, debates, tips, tricks, hacks and information about Google Chrome:

That's it for now, hope you found this list useful!
