Are you a geek? Do you have a geeky friend? Need a gift that's cool and geeky at the same time? Here are 5 cool geeky things you can buy:

Yoda and R2D2 Plush Backpacks: How cool is that? Having Yoda on your back, or packing your stuff inside R2D2? Cool, geeky and not very expensive. Here is the Yoda Pack, and here is the R2D2.

A gym for practicing lightsaber fights and the force? Oh no, there's more to it.

Wait for the end. It's worth it.

Tons of Fun at Kinner.net 2008

Kinner.net is a special event that takes place once a year, on the shore of the Kinneret - the sea of Galilee.

250 nerds, geeks and other creative people are invited to this happening, and they spend their time doing many cool, weird, freaky, funny and tasty stuff.

This was my first year in Kinner.net, and I had a lot of fun. I met a lot of interesting people, ate and drank like there's no tomorrow, played Rock Band all day and all night, broke my record on Galaga and enjoyed the company of my fellow uber-geeks.

I didn't take many pictures, mainly because I was busy doing other interesting stuff, but I have some pics on my flickr set. It's been an exhausting weekend, and if that wasn't enough, now I have to deal with TheMarker's internet convention, the all-famous COM.Vention. Life's tough, I know.

Here are my pics from Kinner.net 2008 (Click to see the whole set):

How the HECK did I miss THIS: Vintage Computer Festival

Man, oh man. I swim around the net ALL FUCKING DAY, and I had no clue that there's a thing called "Vintage Computer Festival", that's held every year.

How did I miss out on something as cool as that? After all, I hold the firm opinion that Apple ][e is the best PC ever made! I was born BEFORE the Commodore 64, for crying out loud. I am a child of the 80s! I grew up on EGA graphics and computer without Hard Drives. Sheesh.

Well, anyway, Wired has a gallery portraying the festival, that was held in Mountain View, California, USA. Too bad most of the pics are in some weird, twisted, fish-eye form.

It was the 10th annual festival, and turns out there is a European version of it in April. So, if all goes well - I am GOING! It's about time I start showing my face in geeky cons and fests. I might even dare a glance at something really extravagant, like DragonCon or FedCon, heaven forbid!

And next time, will someone please inform me about such important events?! Please? Isn't there a web 2.0 site dedicated to geeky events or something?

Torrents for Geeks

Just saw this site for the first time - geektorrent.com.

The site features torrents that are for the nerdy crowd - programming related, sci-fi stuff and even math and physics torrents.

The activity in this site seems pretty low-key at the moment, but that could change in a hurry. So, if you are a Geek and enjoy torrents, this might be the place for you.

From the site:

"geektorrent is tracker/indexer for bittorrent files in any way related to "geeks". This is a rather broad term so if you consider your content "geeky" in any way, it is most likely OK. Feel free to upload programming screencasts, science documentaries, physics papers or why not some gaming speed runs"
